Gwinnett County Police confirmed that the crash involved a single pedestrian and a vehicle traveling eastbound along Athens Highway. According to a preliminary investigation, the pedestrian was inside the roadway and within an active lane of travel at the time of the collision.
Police stated that the vehicle involved was traveling in the right-hand eastbound lane when it struck the pedestrian. The impact caused severe injuries, and the pedestrian was pronounced dead as a result of the collision.
