Long Point Road has been a dangerous stretch of highway for some time. We are so sad to see this bicycle and 18-wheeler collide with such tragic results.

When a wrongful death like this occurs, the family deserves answers, and we all deserve a safer system. Investigations into the driver of the big rig truck, the company, and the scheduling system are necessary. There will be state investigations into how the wreck itself happened, and local police will be involved as well.
Private insurance companies and their lawyers are likely already working on the case, and it’s incredibly important to preserve evidence before it disappears. Sometimes, sadly, people are not forthcoming about what happens in wrecks like these.
Since there will be multiple groups investigating and working on this, it is important the grieving families of anyone injured on Long Point Road or a family member who has been killed by a commercial vehicle call a lawyer immediately. I know it’s terrible, and it’s not the time. A good lawyer will be respectful, be quick, and do just the things that they need to do to preserve the memory of your loved one and find out the truth. Preserve the evidence so the truth does not disappear.
